This Privacy Policy explains how Cleanup ("the app", "we", "us") handles information when you use it. Cleanup is a storage-cleaning utility that helps you find and remove duplicate and similar photos, large or junk videos, compress media, manage duplicate contacts, and set cleanup reminders. Cleanup is built to work on your device — the media and contacts it analyses stay on your phone. Please read the "What we do NOT collect" section; it is the most important part.

1. Information we collect

Cleanup does not require you to create an account and does not ask for your name, email, or phone number. The information collected is limited to the following, gathered through the third-party services listed in section 5:

Usage & diagnostics data — anonymous app-interaction events (screens viewed, features used, buttons tapped), app version, device model, OS version, language, and coarse region/country. Used to understand how the app is used and to improve it.
Crash data — stack traces, device state, and OS information captured only when the app crashes, so we can fix defects.
Advertising identifier & ad interactions — the Google Advertising ID and ad impression/click events, used to show and measure ads (see section 6). This does not apply to users who purchase the ad-free/premium version.
Push notification token — an anonymous device token, only if notifications are enabled, so we can send you relevant updates and reminders.
Install attribution — the Google Play install-referrer (e.g. the campaign or "organic" source of your install), collected once, to understand where users come from.
Purchase status — whether you have purchased the premium (ad-free) upgrade, via Google Play Billing. We never receive or store your payment card details — Google handles payment.

2. What we do NOT collect

Cleanup is built to respect your private content. We explicitly do not collect, upload, transmit, or store any of the following:

Your photos or videos. Media is scanned entirely on your device to find duplicates, similar items, and large files. Image/video content and thumbnails never leave your phone and are never uploaded to us or anyone else.
Your contacts. Contacts are read only on your device to detect duplicates and help you merge or clean them. Contact names, numbers, and details are never uploaded.
Call content or recordings. The app never records calls. Phone state is used only to detect when a call ends so it can show the optional after-call summary screen on your device.
Your phone number, SMS, or message content.
Precise (GPS) location.
Account credentials or passwords.

3. Why we collect data

To operate core features (scanning, cleanup, reminders) — done locally on your device.
To keep the app stable (crash reporting) and to improve it (anonymous usage analytics).
To show ads that fund the free version, and to measure their performance.
To deliver notifications/reminders you have enabled.
To understand acquisition sources and honour your premium purchase.

4. Permissions we request

Every permission the app declares, and why:

`READ_PHONE_STATE`, `ANSWER_PHONE_CALLS`	To detect when a call ends and show the optional after-call/cleanup screen. No calls are recorded.
`POST_NOTIFICATIONS`	To show cleanup reminders and app notifications (Android 13+).
`USE_FULL_SCREEN_INTENT`	To show a full-screen cleanup reminder / after-call alert on the lock screen at the scheduled time.
`SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM`, `WAKE_LOCK`, `RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED`	To fire cleanup reminders at the exact time you set, wake the screen for the alert, and re-arm reminders after a reboot.
`SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW` ("Display over other apps")	To display the after-call cleanup screen over other apps when a call ends.
`VIBRATE`	Haptic feedback for reminders and confirmations.
`FOREGROUND_SERVICE`	Supporting background work for the after-call feature.
`INTERNET`, `ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE`	Required by analytics, crash reporting, ads, and remote configuration.
`com.google.android.gms.permission.AD_ID` & `ACCESS_ADSERVICES_*`	Advertising identifier and Android Ad Services, used to show and measure ads (not for premium users).
`BIND_GET_INSTALL_REFERRER_SERVICE`	To read the Google Play install-referrer once, for install attribution.
`com.google.android.c2dm.permission.RECEIVE`, `C2D_MESSAGE`	To receive push notifications you have enabled.
Launcher badge permissions (`.permission.BADGE*`, `READ/UPDATE_SETTINGS`)	Added by the notification library to show an unread-count badge on the app icon on supported launchers.

5. Third-party services (data processors)

6. Advertising & the Advertising ID

The free version of Cleanup shows ads served by Google AdMob, which may use your device's Advertising ID to show and measure ads. You can reset or delete your Advertising ID at any time in Android Settings → Privacy → Ads. Purchasing the premium (ad-free) upgrade removes all ads; ad-serving is then disabled in the app.

7. Data retention

On-device data (scan results, reminders, settings) — stored locally and removed when you clear the app's data or uninstall it.
Analytics events — retained by the analytics providers per their standard retention periods (generally up to 14 months for Firebase Analytics).
Crash reports — retained up to 90 days by Crashlytics.
Push tokens — retained while notifications are enabled; removed on uninstall.

8. Your rights (GDPR & CCPA)

Depending on your region, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your data, and to opt out of the "sale/sharing" of personal information. Because Cleanup does not hold an account for you, the simplest ways to exercise these rights are:

Reset or delete your Advertising ID (Android Settings → Privacy → Ads).
Revoke any permission in Android Settings → Apps → Cleanup → Permissions.
Clear app data or uninstall the app to remove all on-device data.
Contact us (section 12) to request deletion of any analytics data associated with your device.

9. Children's privacy

Cleanup is a general-audience utility and is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Security & international transfers

Data transmitted to the third-party services above is sent over encrypted (HTTPS/TLS) connections. Those providers may process data on servers outside your country; each maintains its own safeguards for international transfers as described in their policies. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we rely on reputable providers and collect as little as possible.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected here with a new "Last updated" date. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy.
